Dangerous Heat Persists in San Antonio, Relief Expected Thursday

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a heat advisory for San Antonio and surrounding areas along the I-35 corridor, including the coastal plains to the east.
The advisory is in effect from noon to 7 p.m.

Impact & Risks

The extreme heat poses significant health risks, including heat-related illnesses such as heat stroke, which can be life-threatening. Symptoms of heat stroke include a body temperature of 103°F (39.4°C) or higher, red and dry skin, confusion, fainting, rapid breathing, and a fast heart rate. Vulnerable populations, such as the elderly and those without air conditioning, are particularly at risk. Residents are urged to take precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses, especially during the peak heat hours of the day.
